Community Holiday Activities at The Mall
Pet Photos with Santa – Every Wednesday from 12pm-6pm at Santa’s house at the center Benson entrance.
Bring your favorite furry friends to pose with Santa and help out deserving animals at the same time.
25% of the photo proceeds will go straight to Friends of Pets!
Fine Print: Whether they’ve been naughty or nice, all pets must be on a leash or in a lightweight cage or pet carrier. Animals must be up-to-date with their shots, and owners will be responsible for their pets at all times. Owners with pets must only use the Mall’s center Benson entrance (next to SteamDot) and may only bring their pets with them in order to visit Santa. Limited to dogs and cats only.
Salvation Army Angel Tree – Located at the Sears entrance to the Mall.
Be an angel to a child in need this holiday season! Visit the Salvation Army Angel Tree and select a tag for a child who may not otherwise receive a gift this year. The tree will be on display through December 15th.
New, unwrapped gifts can be dropped off at:
The Salvation Army
143 E 9th Ave., Anchorage
Monday-Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm
Friends of Pets Northern Lights of Love Tree – Located at the Carrs/Safeway entrance to the Mall.
This tree-lighting is a tribute to our beloved animal companions. Each white light honors the memory of a pet we have loved and lost; each blue bulb celebrates the presence of a pet in our lives today.
Visit www.FriendsofPets.org by December 15 to join this special tribute and add your pet’s name to the tree. Each $10 donation will help make the holidays more comfortable for homeless pets at Anchorage Animal Care & Control.
Make a Wish Foundation Travel Tree – Located at SteamDot Coffee Bar by the center Benson entrance.
More than 85 percent of Alaskan wishes from the Make a Wish Foundation involve travel. This year, you can help make the trips extra special for Alaskan children battling life-threatening medical conditions by dropping off travel-related items. Pick up a tag for a travel item to bring smiles to children as they fly off to their wish destinations. The tree will be on display through December 15.
New, unwrapped gifts can be dropped off at SteamDot Coffee Bar.
Gift Wrapping by Parachute Ministries – Located behind Santa’s house at the center Benson entrance.
Get your holiday gifts wrapped and help Anchorage kids at the same time! All donations go to Parachute Ministries, a drop-in center for teens, ages thirteen to eighteen, located in the Dimond Center. It is a place where kids can feel safe from the hardships of life.
